To have a man propose to you is a very exciting time in your life. You are on cloud 7 and are simply thrilled about this new path you will take inshaAllah with your soon to be husband. Before both of you set a date you should first set up a meeting to discuss the marriage contract. In it the dowry is documented along with any agreements both parties are willing to live by during the marriage, in case of differences and worst case a divorce. Many converts skip this important step and are often married off without a proper consultation from a mahram or a sheikh. Marriage without a wedding is widely spread amongst converts, which is shameless + domestic violence towards sister's is also very common.
The prenuptial contract will give you and your potential spouse the chance to work on your marriage before you even find yourself in one. Please don't shy away from discussing all points as in my own experience and those of close friends and family members a lot of hardship could have been avoided prior to marriage.
